Terms Of Service
The ground rules for hiring us — how quotes work, what we can't put in the truck, and who's responsible for what.
The short version
The number the website's estimate tool shows you is an estimate. The real price is set by a supervisor after they've seen the job, and you hear it before anyone lifts anything. We can't take hazardous material. Once it's on the truck, it's ours to dispose of, so check the pile before we load. Residential jobs are paid when the work is done; business accounts are invoiced.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Lewis-Clark Junk Removal LLC, doing business as Lewis-Clark Junk Removal ("LCJR", "we", "us"), a Hewcore Corp. company. They apply when you request a quote, book a job, or use this website.
You must be 18 or older to use this service. The estimate tool asks you to confirm it and will not submit without it, and the confirmation is checked again on our side before anything is recorded. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to contact us instead — we are not trying to be awkward, but agreeing a price and having property hauled away is not a minor's decision to make.
By booking work with us you are also confirming that you either own the property and items involved, or have the owner's permission to have them removed.
If we learn that a request came from someone under 18, we will not carry out the work and we will delete the details. See Age, and why we ask in the Privacy Policy.
2. What we do
We haul junk: furniture and appliances, construction debris, estate and garage cleanouts, yard and green waste, and similar work for homes and businesses in the Lewis-Clark Valley and the surrounding area.
We are not movers, demolition contractors, cleaners, or a hazardous waste service. We load, remove and dispose of material. We don't perform demolition, disconnect gas or electrical appliances, or deep-clean a space beyond sweeping up after ourselves.
3. Quotes and pricing
How the price is set
Pricing is based on how much room your load takes up in the truck — not weight, not hourly. You get one flat number before we start work, and that number doesn't change while we're loading.
The online estimate tool is not a quote
The calculator on our quote page works from what you tell it — the load fraction you pick and the items you list. It produces an estimate, and we label it that way on every screen because the distinction matters.
The same goes for a figure given over the phone, by text, or from photos. All of them rest on your description of the job. The binding number is the one a supervisor gives you on site, once we can see the actual load, and always before any work begins. Most of the time it matches the estimate. When it doesn't, you get the real number first and you're free to decline.
When a price can change
If what's actually there is materially different from what was described — more volume, items we were not told about, or conditions that make the job substantially harder — we'll stop, tell you, and give you a revised price. You can accept it or decline and owe us nothing. We will never quietly add charges after the fact.
Certain items carry disposal fees charged by the facility that accepts them — things like mattresses, tires, appliances containing refrigerant, and electronics. Where those apply we'll tell you before loading, not after.
4. Scheduling and access
We aim for 24-hour turnaround on most valley jobs and we'll give you an arrival window. Weather, traffic, landfill hours, and jobs that run long are real, so a window is our best commitment, not a guarantee. If we're going to miss it, you'll hear it from us.
You're responsible for making sure we can actually get to the items — unlocked gates, a place to park the truck, and a clear path. If we arrive and can't access the job, or nobody is there to confirm what's going, we may have to reschedule.
You don't have to be present. If everything is outside, in a garage, or otherwise easy to identify, we can do the pickup and send photos when it's done — but you're responsible for clearly identifying what goes and what stays.
5. Changes and cancellations
Plans change. Cancel or reschedule by calling or texting (208) 503-6307 — we just ask for as much notice as you can reasonably give. We don't charge a cancellation fee for residential jobs. If you paid a deposit under section 8 and cancel before we start, it comes back to you.
We may cancel or reschedule if conditions are unsafe, if the job turns out to be outside what we do, or if the load includes material we're not permitted to take.
6. What we can't take
Some material we're legally not allowed to haul, and some is simply unsafe. We cannot accept:
- Paint, solvents, chemicals, fuel, oil, and other hazardous liquids
- Asbestos and any material that may contain it
- Ammunition, explosives, and flammable or pressurized containers
- Medical or biological waste, including sharps
- Human or animal remains
- Anything requiring licensed hazardous-waste handling or environmental remediation
If you're not sure about something, send a photo before we come out and we'll give you a straight answer. If we find prohibited material once we're there, we'll leave it and take the rest.
You agree not to conceal prohibited material in a load. If something we were not told about causes injury, property damage, or a disposal penalty, you're responsible for the resulting costs.
7. Your property and what happens to it
Check the pile before we load it. Once we remove an item at your direction, it's gone — we may recycle it, donate it, or take it to a disposal facility, often the same day. We can't retrieve items after removal and we're not responsible for anything removed as instructed.
Title to everything we haul transfers to us at the moment it's loaded, and we decide how it's disposed of. We recycle and donate what we reasonably can.
Please pull out anything valuable, sentimental, or containing personal information before we arrive. That applies especially to estate and garage cleanouts, where documents, photographs and small valuables turn up mixed into the pile. We're not able to sort or inspect the contents of what we remove.
8. Payment
For residential work, payment is due when the job is finished, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. We accept the payment methods listed at the time of booking.
Deposits
On larger jobs — currently those priced at $400 or more — we take a 25% deposit to hold the slot. Three things about that:
- It is taken by a supervisor after they have seen the job and set the real price. Never before.
- It is never collected through this website. There is no card field anywhere on lcjr.com, and the estimate tool takes no payment of any kind.
- It comes off the final bill, and it is refunded if you cancel before we start work.
Smaller residential jobs don't require a deposit. Unpaid balances may accrue reasonable late charges to the extent the law allows, and you'd be responsible for reasonable collection costs.
9. Commercial accounts
Business accounts — recurring routes, job-site cleanups, unit turnovers — run differently:
- A per-load or per-visit rate agreed in writing before work starts
- Itemized invoices rather than payment at the curb
- A standing schedule you can change or pause as your workload changes
- Per-visit records for your files
A recurring arrangement is not a fixed-term contract. Either of us can change or end it with reasonable notice. Where a separate signed service agreement exists with a business customer, that agreement controls if it conflicts with these terms.
When invoices are due
Unless we have agreed something different with you in writing, invoices are due within 15 days of the invoice date.
If your accounts payable runs on net 30, say so when we set the account up and we will almost certainly agree to it — property managers and general contractors usually do, and we would rather match your process than make you fight ours. What we ask is that the terms are settled in writing before the first pickup, so neither of us is guessing at invoice time.
10. Damage and liability
We take care in your space — that's the whole job. Still, moving heavy items through doorways and down stairs carries real risk, so here's where we stand.
We'll take responsibility for damage to your property caused by our negligence.
Tell us within 7 days
Please report damage within 7 days of the job. That window exists for a practical reason, not a legal trick: a week on, we can still send the same crew back to look at it, check the before-and-after photos from that job, and tell whether a scuff was ours. A month on, nobody can honestly say — and that helps neither of us.
So treat 7 days as when we can do something about it, not as a deadline that wipes out a real claim. If you find damage later, still tell us. It is harder to establish, and we may not be able to accept it, but we would rather hear about it than have you assume the door is shut. Nothing in this paragraph shortens any period Idaho law gives you to bring a claim.
We're not responsible for:
- Wear consistent with moving large items through tight spaces you've asked us to use, where we've flagged the risk beforehand
- Pre-existing damage, or damage to surfaces already in poor condition
- Items removed at your direction, including anything valuable left in the pile
- Damage caused by prohibited or undisclosed material in a load
- Delays caused by weather, road conditions, facility hours, or events outside our control
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Some states don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Nothing here limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that can't be limited under applicable law.
11. Photos of our work
We photograph jobs and sometimes post them to social media. We keep it to the pile and the space — no names, no addresses, nothing identifying. Tell us if you'd rather we didn't and we won't. There's more detail in our Privacy Policy.
12. This website
The content, layout, logo and branding on lcjr.com belong to us. You're welcome to read it, share links to it, and print it for your own use; please don't copy it wholesale for another business.
We keep the site accurate, but service areas, availability and pricing approaches change. Nothing on this website is a binding offer on its own — the binding number is the quote we give you for your specific job.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business changes. The version in effect when you book your job is the one that applies to that job. Updates are posted here with a new effective date.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be worked out directly belongs in the state or federal courts serving Nez Perce County, Idaho.
Honestly, though: if something went wrong, call us first. We're a local business and we'd much rather fix it than argue about it.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
